We recommend just copying the key and pasting it into the License Key box. This is a LightBurn software license key for users with GCode controllers DIY / hobby. If you do not have an internet connection on the computer you will be running LightBurn on, please follow the Offline Activation instructions. It unlocks the trial version of the software for permanent use, and allows installing on up to two computers, PC, Mac, Or Linux. The key will be emailed to you this may take up to 24 hours. Once you have activated your license or the trial, click 'OK' You can get back to this screen in LightBurn at any time by going to the menu and clicking Help > License Management. If you ever need to manage your license, such as deactivate an old computer, follow the instructions on the License Management page. Or Trotec and Epilog machines are super awesome, but I really don't like their software at all.You can get back to it any time in the Help menu, under Help > Quick Help and Notes. Like, Muse/Beambox/LaserBox/etc lose all major points because I'd have to use their dumbed-down software.
I mean, I honestly believe that being able to use LightBurn is one of the major selling points for Chinese machines. I think it's reasonably priced for being well-written niche software.
Well, it's not that cheap, but I have paid more for some games (and fricking soundtracks). So, unless you want some new features, there won't be much of a reason to upgrade. So, updates are quite a bit more important with these.Īs far as I can tell, support for Gcode controllers has been pretty much perfect for quite a while. With the less well-supported TopWisdom (TL) controllers, a lot of progress was made in the last few months and future updates will likely improve some things like rotary support. (This looks like the route I'll probably will take.) If you got, for example, one of the popular Ruida controllers and if you're fine with the current feature set, you could just use the same version till the end of times.
You can use it for as long as you want and you get free updates for one year. I was barely willing to pay the $40 but not $60 a year for the updates.
